Aug 13, 2013Well not to go against the grain but I only use 100% or as close to 100% as possible cotton socks! (still do) Also they must be white no colors.
As a wild land firefighter I walked many miles in my Redwing Boots with cotton socks. When I tried other fabrics I had many foot problems manly rashes and foot smell with cotton I had no problem. I did get a few blisters with either type of fabric or cotton but nothing big mostly when the boots were somewhat new and not yet broke in or long downhill walks (3 to 4 miles).
Some of the guys and gals used a boot sock made by Davis or from one of the logging company boot retailers (can't remember the name).
Anyway that is me.
