Sorry!:h I was not trying to troll, but I guess on this forum if you try to inform outside the bounds of moderator opinion that makes you one. Regardless,the intent of the post was to caution that maybe a little due diligence might help all of us be better informed. That said, I suspect the moderator will delete this post too since I guess I don't have enough posts over the years to qualify for a voice here. YMMV!:)

I would not mind working for Amazon I think it would be a hoot. But I do have two concerns one is the RV sites as the ones in Fernly are booked, Desert Rose and Fernly RV, making a longer drive and the second is the possibility of having to work graveyard. I am a retired firefighter and have spent many long nights on fires, the longest 31 hours and I did work Black Friday at Wal-Mart in Mesa. Basically I do not feel I preform at my best on the night shift. The reason I wrote about Fernly is I have family in California and I would like to spend Christmas with them.I do have a saved application filled out but just maybe to chicken to pull the trigger.JimR

It's like a job almost anywhere I'd expect, there are those that appreciate the opportunity to work for Amazon, and others that found it was tougher than they thought. You can certainly google enough info from blogs to know that it is a job some take in stride and others hate. It's probably not for everybody. Gate Guarding isn't either, but there are enough people that want to do it. It's on my list in a few years when I can convince the DW to FT. Just gotta get better shoes.

Hi Jim,

While we can't guarantee you will get a day shift, there is a very good likelihood that we can get you days. If you explain your situation to Mirna in Fernley, we will do our best to get you your preference. Most of the time we are able to put folks in the position they request.

Many of our campers carpool from the further out campgrounds - to save gas & not have to drive every day. That may be a solution to the longer drive.

If you have any other specific questions, we are happy to talk to you about them. I can have Mirna (She is the HR person in charge of the CamperForce associates at Fernely) talk to you about the local area as well.

jwood....I did not delete because you had very few posts. I deleted because you have no firsthand information regarding working for Amazon. If you had done due diligence on this forum researching Amazon, you would have found loads of firsthand info....some good, some bad.
