Yes. They hold up almost like a cloth towel for a period of time. And they stick to the roll so it doesn't unfurl in transit. They do leave a lot of lint behind, though. I use them in the kitchen and around the garage but not on glass.
In the garage I've found that the blue shop towels and Viva are pretty much on-par with each other. Both will leave chunks behind if you're trying to clean something with rough edges (most recently the intake manifold on my son's Pontiac GTP). But for the most part they perform identically, IMO.
