Passport America discount for Sams Club members

Question

My PA membership has expired. Thinking I might sign up again  before traveling South this winter. Sams Club sent an e-mail stating a 50% discount on PA for Deluxe SC members who sign up at a Superstore. Fine print says this is for only new members to PA. Anyone done this, or tried to, and know if I would be a " new " member since my membership expired. This was not clear in the promotion and I am not close to a Superstore or I would just go in and find out what they have to say.

Sams club clerk would not  know but if the last membership was in your name then try another family member if possible. My DW and I do this all the time

Passport America has a good 3 year renewal price.

You don't need to sign up through CW to get discount. I just called PA and gave them my GS number. In fact you will get your card faster calling direct.

PA has a 5 year for $179 and get 6 months for free deal on their site. I got a lifetime deal for around $300 if I remember right. Call and ask.
