- mockturtleExplorer IIYep, some of the best and some of the worst campgrounds are PA-affiliated. But certainly, if you stay at RV parks at all, it will save you money.
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIWe just got a notice from them for 2 years for $44. Seemed like a pretty good deal. We have belonged in the past and feel that we mostly got our money's worth.
But as was said, the parks are usually 2nd or maybe even 3rd tier parks, and you need to check in advance to make sure the PA rate will be honored. If you travel a lot you can probably come out ahead, at least a little bit. - winnimanExplorer III agree with all statements. If you are travelling, the PPA is quite handy, and you will save money. If you plan on getting somewhere and staying for weeks or months, it probably will be a wash. We travel fairly steady all winter. We will stay two or three days, then move on. We have found many PPA parks have weekend restrictions, or two or three day limits. We will stay at a destination for the weekend, then travel to a PPA park on Monday, stay a couple days, then move on Wednesday to another PPA park for a few more days. At $44, it only takes a few stays to pay you back. We save about $80 a week for several months this way. As stated, you have to look for the PPA parks on their APP, then look up their website to see what their restrictions are. We found ones that excluded all the winter months, some all summer, some all weekends, etc. We also found many that happened to be in slight disrepair, and had A frame offices. Im guessing they were former KOA campgrounds that had either lost their franchise due to disrepair, or they booted KOA out to save money. Many of the PPA parks are very nice. It was hit and miss really. If you plan to travel mid week in the winter, I think you will get your value out of the pass. We buy it every year we travel.
- LadyRVerExplorer III am a Lifetime Member and the membership has more than paid for itself. So far, used it for 19 years. Some awesome parks, some mid-level. Only one park did I pull into and pull out. Pros and cons with all. And, one I recently stayed in was a 5 star park for 24.00 a night. 30 amp. Just because I choose to stay in PPA parks does not mean I am trailer trash.
- GulfcoastExplorerThink positive and pay the $44.... I'm thankful for the savings.
- _1FlyboyExplorerThey might have a special going on; last month we paid $99 for 4 years subscription; works for us using it a few times a year for a real shower, laundry, dumping tanks & mail delivery! I recommend joining!
- B_O__PlentyExplorer IIIt's only $44.00. If you get 3 or 4 nights out of it on your way somewhere how can you loose? If the parks aren't exactly 5 star they all look the same from inside your RV. To me it's much better than staying at a Walmart and having some free loader banginging on your door looking for "gas" money.
B.O. - NaioExplorer IIIt works out well for me for my north/south trips, snowbirding. My trips both ways are during the off season, and it's easy enough to plan to be at a park on a weeknight.
I feel more comfortable at low rent parks anyway. I'm a low rent kind of person. - bikendanExplorer

We had a Passport America membership for our first year of RV travel. We did not use it much since we spent most of our time in National Parks, National Forests, State campgrounds and BLM lands. Later the membership expired but we used the guide a few times. When setting up reservations we were able to get the same level of discount using our AARP or AAA membership numbers.
Please explain how you can get 50% off, with AARP or AAA. As far as my experience, AAA only gets me the same 10% off that i get with Good Sam.
We've been using PA for at least 10 years and always got our money's worth out of it. Since we never camp during summer, holidays or weekends, it works for us, even before we retired.
Currently booking trips south, for 2 months, with the majority of places at PA member RV parks. We're saving hundreds of dollars and most are great RV parks. - FinnnExplorerHallo!
