Think of it this way. The common question they ask is what is your most expensive item you purchased? If you play the dates right you are allowed $800 free anyways. Tell them the $1100 and leave it up to customs if they want to bug you on the $300. We don't pay any Prov tax anyway so GST is only $15 at the most and if the guy is having a good day may only ask you to pay that or may just wave you through which has happened to me many times. Even if they charge duty it will only be on the $300 dollars anyway so it will still be big savings versus purchasing one here which is way overpriced. Don't worry about CSA as that is not a big deal. Just make sure you don't burn your house or trailer down with it when you get home and they find that out or insurance likely won't cover it.
