Well OK - we've got our itinerary pretty well figured... We have 3 days in the area so this is how it looks:
Wednesday:
Eastern State Penitentiary
Philadelphia Museum of Art (including the Rodin museum)
We figure the art museum will take a while and it's open late on Wednesday evenings.
Thursday:
Brandywine River Museum
and ramble around the Wyeth land of Chadd's Ford (we did this before, but we couldn't pass it up being so close)
Friday:
Betsy Ross House
Elfreth’s Alley
Christ Church Burial Ground
The Liberty Bell - NPS
Carpenters' Hall - NPS
Free Quaker Meeting House - NPS
Independence Hall - NPS
Congress Hall - NPS
The President's House Site - NPS
City Hall Tower & Observation Deck
Edgar Allan Poe House - NPS
The Edgar Allan Poe House is only open on Friday while we're there so Friday it is.
We figure we will drive in and park for the days we go and do lots of walking. We will take the bus to the Poe house as the neighborhood doesn't look the best. Probably won't eat out - I did write down the restaurants, but we don't usually like to spend extra money on food. We didn't eat out in NYC, DC, or Boston so we'll most likely just let the crock pot do its thing while we're seeing the sights.
Thanks all for the help! We'll surely go back and see some of the other sights when we have more time - can't wait for retirement!
