I got a call this morning about prescription drugs. The computer generated voice started before I got the phone to my ear so I didn't hear the start but I thought there was supposed to be meds ready for me. The "voice" ask if I was "Patty B", press one. Then for security reasons it wanted her birthday. I wish now I would of continued to see where it went but that was enough. My wife had a hip replacement that ended in a serious staph infection and required a lot of pain drugs, Oxycodone type. I wonder if her records were hacked somewhere and they wanted her b/d to buy more in her name.??????Anyway it was nothing like the notices we get from our pharmacies. I'm glad we've got in the habit to not verifying even our name to anyone........ Just a thought..

No Jerry, you should not have continued with a birthdate. Give no information to a call you get and don't recognize. You can always call the pharmacy to inquire as to whether they had called you. But you should never give personal information to a call you receive from an unidentifiable source.Dale

Start by--Is she expecting to have a prescription ready? Many pharmacies will call and say when ready. But they should state the name of the pharmacy and none I use require any kind of response or information. They are simply informing me it's ready. Your's sounds bogus. When any doubt, don't respond.

When anyone calls us they say This message is for the person who has a birthday on 1 January 1999. But after I hung up, I think I would have called the pharmacy. The phone number should be on the pill bottle and see if they did call. Glad she is getting better
I got a phone call from a local number and wondered who it was. I put the number into google and it popped up "This number is associated with a telemarketer" When I typed in my own number I got the message "This phone number is either not a spam caller or we haven't received a call report about it yet"

Glad we get everything through Scripts (Tricare Pharmacy). Any call from anyone else is an immediate hangup, unless it is a real person.

Then I have some fun!

As to caller ID. when my pharmacy calls, just the phone 800# appears. Have to remember it. Also one Dr. reminder # shows Ohio even tho we are both in FL. Go figure!!

I have a simple solution and works whether it is a landline or cell phone.

DON'T ANSWER.

I let 'voice mail' handle ALL calls.

Family/friends KNOW this....so they just leave short message and I call back

OTHERS.....most hang up/disconnect when 'message' starts

I am NOT dependent on phone.
It is a TOOL that I choose WHEN to use.

Simple......
