I don't hate Florida, I just don't like it. That's why I'm in Gold Canyon Arizona. Hiking in the Superstition Mountains at 65-70 degrees can't be beat.
We moved to Tampa Florida in 2002 to get a jump on retirement in 2012. Could only take it for 5 years before we left for good. The weather was great, even the summers didn't bother us at all. It was everything else we didn't like. Beachs got boring to us. Would rather be hiking.
Lot's of people love Florida but it wasn't for us.
