What we used to do back in the day was sneak over there and run a pin thru his COAX... Would take him three or four days to find it maybe...
I am a big time HAM RADIO guy as well as Emergency Radio OPS for SKYWARN-NAVY MARS-County emergencies but always respect the neighbors... There is a time and place for everything... Some people are just plain JERKS....
If your SUBJECT means for us Ham Radio guys to "LEAVE OUR HAM RADIOs AT HOME" I'm afraid I might have a problem with that statement. That is something I like to do when camping.
Its also funny how people like to camp near other campers.. We always like to get to the ends of the camp ground roads just because of the HAM RADIO activity sitting out in the patio in the big easy chairs in the shade... Like you said there won't be hardly any body anywhere near where you are and the campers will park right too you.
Must be the BIRDS OF KIND FLOCK TOGETHER natural rule thing...
If I was bothered like that I would most definitely report it to the Ranger... When you get on the shouting match side of things in today's society usually doesn't end well... Let the folks in charge do it for you...
We had an incident up on Skyline Drive a few years back at LOFT MTN. They used to have almost all of their sites on RESERVATION. Having been there many time we always had our favorite drive thru shady spot just across the camp road from the bath room house. Every year we would reserve the same location for 4-5 days... SO having it reserved for a month or so earlier I get this phone call form the Rangers telling us they had a sitter that had moved into our reserved spot and wanted to move us another spot.. I looked up the site on GOOGLE VIEW and it was not shady at all and called the Ranger back telling him we really wanted to have a shady spot with tree cover. He indicated that all were full... So I jokingly said move that guy out - he was a claim jumper anyway... Ranger said don't worry about it they will take care of it.
I arrived around noonish and drove to the site and of course it had a trash can set up on the road with my name on the RESERVED site number post. I pulled right in and got all setup. Then went down the road to check-in to let them know I was there etc... Everything seemed to be just as normal as could be. As it turns out the claim jumper was a son to the camper next to our site and they also had another family member on the site on the other side of them. Not knowing any of this I just mentioned to the Dad and Mom that was next to us that the Ranger said he had a time getting my site cleared of a claim jumper.
The guy said they sure did and the claim jumper was his son... The ranger came and moved them out and a fight started up and they called the police in to remove his son from the camp ground. Now let me tell you we was in a pickle there haha... Didn't know if our tires was gong to be slashed in the middle of the night or what... The son actually had to spend the night in the local county jail it seems. That wasn't our fault by any means but sure made for a strange 4-5 days being there next door to the Mom and Dad trailer setup... The son that was in our site stayed in another spot close by and finally left in a day...
The next time we made Reservations the camp ground had split up the RESERVATION Sites and FIRST COME sites which included our favorite spot. I am guessing our incident was responsible for doing all those changes ???? We still go back and seem to always be able to get our favorite site on a first come basis. We always reserve a site but if that one is empty when we get there we change to to it and cancel the reserved site status... Getting to the sites between Monday and Thursday usually finds the LOFT MOUNTAIN camp ground empty as can be...
Camping is always FUN hehe...
