I recently stayed at a state park, with over 400 RV camp pads. Every box had a bright yellow sticker on it, with a warning. It said to switch off, before plugging in/out, and to be sure plug is firmly installed.
This is a busy park, with a lot of short stays. I'm sure they are trying to keep electric maintenance costs in check.
