- ANewCreationExplorerWe have two 50' lengths (connected)of pocket hose that I bought from Walmart for $19.99 each. We use them at home.
PROS: They fit nicely in a smallish container.
They are light weight.
CONS: They have to be drained after use (so they can return to original shape) and this takes longer than with a standard garden hose.
The water comes out with very little pressure/force. (I can spit with more pressure:B)
Not sure how long they will last when using/dragging around on concrete driveways.
We will use these hoses until they fall apart or my DH gets tired of having to spit to wash the cars...just kidding, but we will not buy them again. - Ski_Pro_3ExplorerWhen in doubt, check it out.
On Amazon, do a search on XHOSE. I found 8 results. Of those 8, there were over 800 total reviews from users and buyers of the xhose. The average, out of 5 stars, was about 2 1/2 stars. Not good... Not only that, there were twice as many 1 star ratings as there were 5 star ratings, indicating there was alot wrong with them to loose at least one star in the reviews of over 90% of the total number of reviews.
Considering the price, I'd say these are just not quite ready for prime time, let alone their prime price. - Sea_DogExplorerI was not clear.
My hose is the type that coils like a spring.
Works great! - RandACampinExplorer II

I have used one for years!
Matter of fact, just beginning to use the second one.
We use it exclusively to hook up the water in campgrounds.
I have to laugh at the comment concerning solder.
if your house has copper pipe, you are drinking solder.
Anyway, they work great, would not use anything else!
I have to laugh as well...plumbing solder is lead free! - mikedboydExplorerI was using one for washing off dishes behind the camper, hot water. the soft lining musta melted, cause it got multiple leaks pretty quick and was a throw-away. I also think the flow rate is not as good as my normal hose.
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIOk, the one I have was a Wal-mart purchase.. That is as far as I can go at IDing it.
- BumpyroadExplorerIIRC the CR said there were three versions of this type of hose. perhaps some are better than others. it would be helpful if people would specifically identify theirs when commenting on it.
bumpy - abc40kidsExplorerMy parents bought on to water flowers and wash there car and it works great, no leaks at all around the fittings.
- GoostoffExplorerI have 3 of the 50 footers hooked together. When all wrapped up they fit in a 2 gallon plastic bucket. It does take a little longet to fill the water tank using them but for the space they save me it is well worth a few minutes. We dont drink the water in the camper, so it doesnt matter if they are potable aproved. Besides how many of you have gotten a drink out of the hose when you were a kid? I would bet that over the years I have easilly consumed 100 gallons of water out of the garden hose.
- sowegoExplorerWe saw a whole bunch of them at Wally World last week...they looked like a piece of junk to me and many others must have too because they weren't selling!
