- Homer1ExplorerThe guy following; had he swerved to avoid the wreckage could have been deadly. It appears he took a pretty good bounce. I give him credit for hanging tight.

Maybe he will in a few months on Nov 16, 2016 - that's the date stamp on the video. Clairvoyant mode turned on?
The following driver was very fortunate he wasn't tailgating or he'd have been wearing that top wrapped around his windshield.
More seriously, I had the front trunk hatch fly open on the highway, but it at least stayed attached. Just gave me a scare but no damage to me or anyone else. In my case, I'd forgotten to latch the latches (minor detail...).
Likely if tailgating the following driver would have gone right under the top as it was air borne. - rockhillmanorExplorerPulling over from the left lane to help would not have served any purpose to begin with because he would have been too far away from the incidence. Don't shoot the messenger!
To the poor guy with the PUP.
THAT is really one sad video to watch seeing ALL his personal belongings go flying up in the air. :( - westendExplorerThings noted: Running over the top of a pop-up on the roadway in a small car is an extreme event. Slowing down in a construction zone may be good procedure. Don't trust that your top will stay down without additional measures when towing pop-up. Most folks don't pull over in the event of an accident if they can safely proceed around, matters not if it is just road debris or if someone may be hurt.

Indeed! Excellent point.
From the video I didn't see any need to stop. there was no reason too! - TvovExplorer III was impressed that the car driver did not seem to panic, jerk the wheel, and drive off the road. Not that there was any time to panic!
Looks like the driver with the dash cam pulled to the right and slowed down considerably... I would like to assume that the driver saw other people stopping so saw no need to be another vehicle on the side of the road.
I just never would have thought about a popup doing that. Interesting how it happened just as it went under a bridge - change in wind or air pressure? - mobeewanExplorer

That wasn't a good day for a couple drivers.
I think the car that hit the debris may have had a harder impact than we realize.
Judging by how the wheels came off the ground, I agree! Horrible day for all involved.
yeah, but he landed on one of the matresses. - nineoaks2004ExplorerThat would be scary for all concerned. Luckily (or so it seems) no one was injured...That is the reason I always use a check off sheet so I do not miss anything.
