Portable Ice Makers

Ours came from Compact appliances with free shipping and it has been running for three seasons. Last year I did have to take it apart and clean the water pump, but it sure is nice to have lots of ice. We also have a small refer with a separate freezer that we usually keep filled with ice. They are nice, but you have to be aware that they do not hard freeze the ice, so you need to have a way to harden it up for use.

BTW Ice makers sit outside on a small collapsible table just fine. No need for taking up an counter space. Heck we sit ours on top of the outside refer and it works OK.

We used to have one with an older coach. They're available at WalMart and Home Depot. Try it out for 30 days...$$ back if you don't like it....ours worked great but took up counter space.....Dennis

The less I have to put in my MH that takes up any more space the better. Bags of ice cost a few bucks.

Four bags of ice in a cheap throw away cooler has always keep me and my friends in cold ones! Just don't see the need for an ice maker.

We got rid of the coffee maker so we now have room. Lol

Cooler will take up more room than the ice maker. While you can buy ice at $2-3 a bag, you have to go get it. Sometimes we camp without a vehicle to drive, like we did this weekend. I will break even in about 50 bags of ice. In a week of camping we could go through 4 or 5 bags easily. Plus we can use it in the house for get togethers.

We have an container in the freezer for ice. Won't necessarily be using it to fill coolers or anything.

We have the Domestic brand from CW. Works great and we love it. :)

Love ours. We still like to ice our drinks in a cooler so ours see plenty of use! Don't like the aggravation of having to buy ice, use our freezer for other stuff.

We have the Magic Chef. (A lot of them look alike, just different brand names) Going on 5 years now. Got it at Home Depot. Works well. Use it at home some too when entertaining. Make bags of ice and put in freezer. $125.00 well spent in my opinion.

WE got one from BrandSmart about a year ago, really like it. Altho, I have found it is best for supplementing ice already in the cooler, rather than starting from scratch. We have it between seats in our C when parked, no extra space needed. Mine does take a 'watchful' eye to keep supplementing the water as ice is dumped.
