- Dutch_12078Explorer IIOur RAV4 required a Remco transmission lube pump to tow 4-down. It cannot be dolly towed.
- FIRE_UPExplorerWell,
Here is ONE of our present toads.
Sorry folks, I'm using Imgur but, all I'm posting is the address to the picture, not the picture itself. Hmmmmm. I'll figure this out.

What is the best setup? Direct towing or using a car dolly?
That is purely personal preference! I have done both; 4-down with Jeeps and a Dodge Ram 1500 4X4, dolly for our PT Cruiser.
We towed the PT from here to Ringgold, GA and back on a dolly, no problems at all!
IMO, there is no "best". Many say that a dolly is too much trouble and too much work and too much weight. I never found any of that to be true.
Good luck with whatever you decide to use. - jplante4Explorer II

Ease-of-use wise, four flat wins hands down. Once the base plate and wiring are done, towing is a matter of hooking up the tow bar, the safety chains/cable and the umbilical cord. No worries about where to store the dolly/trailer when you get to where you're going.
The only glitch is if you don't own a car that you can tow 4 down. - mike_brezExplorer
