Gaining MPG would be nice but I agree that 1-2 MPG gain would be the max increase if there is any increase at all. I am more interested in finding out if the lighter trailer would tow better up hills, will I feel less load. I know parking the shorter trailer will be much easier. Also wondering if saving 1,500 pounds of weight will make a big difference on the truck's wear and tear?
The weights are the measured dry weight of each trailer.
A My RAM Laramie Limited 4x4 Crew Cab, Long Bed, 4 Point Air Suspension with four passengers only has a cargo weight/hitch of 325 pounds. Plus Ram can track track how much weight is in the truck. I'm in the process of adding additional suspension to over come this issue.
