Pre Trip Checks

Today after work I de-winterized my fiver and started to get things ready for our up coming trip for the Memorial Day weekend. Glad I did. Noticed one of my trail air suspension guage was registering zero PSI for the left side wheels. Got my air compressor, filled to the required 70 psi and leaked back to zero in a matter of minutes. Removed the guage panel screwes and found the brass fitting where the air line is held into the gauge had a crack all the way thru the threads. Now I have to find a new one. It is always good to check things out a week prior to taking a trip after the long winter. If I would of waited until next Friday it would of delayed our trip or worst, we would of not been able to go. Now I have to get the part.

If anyone knows a store that carries the Female Connector Parker #66PMT-4-2 I would appreciate your help. I might have to wait and call Lippert on Monday..

  • Good news,, I got the part in yesterday and we are back in a Full Mission Capable status. We roll out Friday at noon.
  • I noticed when I was in the Navy that it was quite hot in the summer when we went to Fort Worth to inspect the Hornet squadrons there... Wind chill in the summer in Texas is like 110 degrees...lol
  • Here in Texas, our camping season is ending, because for a rig to be campable from May to October, it requires full time electricity and A/C for most of the day, and it doesn't really cool down until 9-10 at night.
  • I know... we are getting off to a late start here in Maryland. We have a lot of trips planned and will enjoy the sport boat on the weekends we are not camping... Life is good...
  • So here it is the middle of May, and you are just getting ready for the season? Shame on you. We have already been blown away, rained on, and even had snow on the ground on our first camping trip. :) Now bring on the bugs.
  • Thanks guys. We found some and the part will be here monday or tuesday. We will be good to go.
  • Can I suggest changing all the fittings that are like the one that cracked? Little preventive maintenance.....:)
