It's all in the details.
From what I can see the RV's brochure states that leather comes standard. No idea if that means bonded leather, which is a composite product (thin pieces of leather bonded to foam/poly) or aniline dyed leather and what it's weight is. Based on the OP's description I'd hazard a guess his chairs were covered in bonded leather which does not have the longevity of other leather.
