Texas is odd. I have remembered a KOA Kampground on 281 between Burnet and Johnson city that closed... and Pecan Grove in Austin finally getting bought out to make more condos, but I think there are more RV parks now than there were in the past in my neck of the woods.
I try to read the RVPR reviews with a close eye. There are CGs that get a one-star rating because their Wi-fi couldn't handle full YouTube streaming by a full family in a fifth wheel, while every other review was overwhelming positive.
Of course, when multiple people post about a CG, recommending to keep your firearm of choice "cocked and locked" by your bedside, that is a good warning to find other accommodations. When scouting I-10 possibilities, there were more than one that had these types of reviews.
