Prodigy P3 Issues

I have same issue as jmtandem, just use boost 1 for city traffic light and boost 3 on highway. My rig is a 1996 C1500 towing a 6,300 TT. I had to adjust the TT brakes annually and change the voltage for the brakes as said above. I used the TT in hilly terrain and as the brakes wore on the effectiveness wore on I ended up selecting a higher voltage setting, may not be the best way when the best way is adjusting the brakes.

I am glad I am not alone with my issue. Maybe the new controllers are getting too smart. I found the instructions for Prodigy to be good except that we need to be very careful to understand at low speeds (under 25 mph) it may be very hard (or impossible) to get the trailer brakes to lock up on pavement using manual control as is suggested in the instructions. I have used the brakes harder at faster speeds and they work much better. Then drive around town after being at highway speeds and the brakes lock up at every stop sign or traffic light unless the boost is turned down. Kind of amazing the way they work. When you want to lock the brakes they won't and when you don't the will. After a few hundred miles the OP will understand how the controller works and adjust it for the desired results.
