Was the SUV hauling a TANK or a CYLINDER? Hauling a tank in a small suv like that would be impressive.

Seriously doubt the propane tank itself exploded. If it had, gotta wonder why these folks weren't killed instantly with deadly shrapnel.
IMO the leaking propane itself caused all the damage and injuries---leaving the propane tank intact.

X2. It is very difficult to cause a propane tank to actually explode. I once watched a house fire where the 500 gallon propane tank next to the structure got so hot that it vented it's contents to the atmosphere, creating a HUGE flame shooting into the sky, but the tank did not explode.
