IMHO the 2 lb bottles are the worst offenders.
I found that many of those little 2 lb propane bottles leak all the time after you use them and surprisingly the Coleman ones more so than the generic ones.
Common practice is to take them off the camping stove/bbq when traveling. I put them in my bay. Sitting along side the MH we all started to smell propane. It was coming from the half used 2 lb bottles in the bay. :R
I bought brass caps from eBay for those disposable bottles. Had some leak when they got to upper temps or left in the sun. No problem now.

X2 I found them on Amazon . They do look a little safer then the cheap plastic ones and I bought a pair of them. I carry a couple of the one pound tanks in my TT. I don't have any other way to carry them.
