People watch too many movies and tv shows with cars exploding and also flying through the air.
Fact is they seldom explode and they most definitely do not fly 100 feet through the air.
I had a company truck backfire through the carb and catch on fire. I smelled gasoline a block or so before the backfire. I stopped, put it in park, and exited the vehicle. I stood on the side of the street and watched it turn into a total loss, there was no explosion.
Life's too short to spend it living in fear of what is very unlikely to happen.
