Well, if you are worried about propane,just turn on the Inverter and run it on ac. If you have auto gen start, the generator will keep the batteries up. I'm not up, on how much drain, the typical ac/propane refrigerator puts on batteries. Also how much charge will the alternator contribute to the batteries going down the road.
We generally have the ac running, in summer while traveling,anyway so the battery charge is not an issue.
I don't know about keeping the inverter operating while the generator is running, since we've not been concerned about propane use while traveling and left the fridge in auto which switched between ac on generator, and inverter when generator wasn't running. It would be inconvenient and we would forget to constantly switch if necessary.
Somebody get us up on inverter use while gen is running or when just operating on engine alternator, and drain while sitting still on batteries and if manual switching is needed.
