Propane...winterize full or empty

Got a question. Will be winterizing soon and I currently have about 1/4 of propane (approx 35 gal tank). Should I go ahead and fill the tank prior to winterizing, or leave it almost empty and fill next year? I know with diesel, it's recommended to keep the tank full, but don't have a clue about propane.

recommendations?

thanks,

Ron
  • Agree with Trackrig. Besides, having it full even if no emergency leaves one less thing to worry about come spring time when you want to take off.
  • Like diesel propane does not freeze. Diesel is subject to organic contamination so fuel treatments are common, propane is not. Bottom line IMHO It doesn't matter.
  • I doesn't make a bit of difference to the tanks or propane. I like to store full just in case I need to use the RV unexpectedly - think hurricanes, snow storms, power outages, etc.
