Can anyone tell me if a 1989 f-150 5 speed (over drive) manual shift can be pulled 4 down? I have a sweet running 1989 and would like to take it with me on some trips.

I agree with the "almost any manual" but the overdrive concerns me
Check your owner's manual, sometimes they advise
Check with RemcoTowingUSA (I doubt it will be on the on-line tool but perhaps customer service can check the archives)
NOTE if it is a rear wheel drive (not 4wd) then for sure it can be towed 4 down but it may require modification.. REMCO.. Well, they supply the modifications or can tell you who does.
They can turn your truck into a true trailer (no power to rear wheels when towing. drive shaft disconnected) and restore it easily when you need to drive.. "Hidden" lever does the magic, can you imagine the chagrin of a car thief trying to drive off with the disconnect, disconnected?
