pulling motorcycle with rv. Open trailer or closed trailer

I want to tow a trike behind my motorhome, I am concerned that if I use a open trailer the trike might get damaged from stones or other stuff, or should I use a closed trailer? Appreciate any comment...

We have done both and prefer the enclosed trailer that has 6'4" headroom - keeps the bikes clean, protected from damage, and the trailer provides a "garage" while in camp to put clutter away, hang bike gear etc. and you can walk upright in it...
