Don't get hung up on driving through a big city. Prepare your best before hand. Actually I find it challenging, if needed. Sometimes you just get into tough situations. So with experience, it helps you get through it. Actually, I have found that other drivers are quick to spot when you are "in a fix". And will do what they can to help you. They will get out of your way. They will stop traffic for you. They will get out there and help guide you through the tough spot. And so forth.
Oh....there are a few that will flip you off and blow their horn at you too. That is what alerts the others that you need help. So even the horn blowers actually help you without their knowledge.
One other thing I have learned is don't depend on a cop to help you. Every time I was in one of those spots where there was a cop around, they generally sat in their car and watched how you got out of it. I suppose if things got crazy they would help. All I'm saying is just don't depend on a cop to help. But other drivers are your best help. They are on your side. Because you might be holding them up. They need to get you going, so they can go.
So enjoy the ride. Meet the challenge.
