Yep, the subject comes up here often enough. Go to a boating forum to really see it beaten to death by people looking for an easy one step little work fix.
Of course the easy, little work, fix does not exist especially if the surface has been neglected & is powdering.
If this is where you are at you are in for a multi product multi step not so easy job if you want to restore the gelcoat to a long lasting deep shine. It could be as involved as compounding then a multi coat of sealer or pure wax or it could be a cleaner wax followed by a sealer or pure wax.
Cheap product generally results in cheap results. It takes the same labour to use either cheap product or quality long lasting product so better spend the extra $ & get the good stuff that will last more than a couple of months.
