TOP is in the PVC family. Back in 07 there was a problem with both the manufacture and application of TPO. The felt backing was applied too wide by the mfgr and when applied slightly askew it allowed water to be wicked up into the substrate rotting the roof. Most current TPO has no backing. It was not the actual TPO material that was the problem, Jayco, KZ and others had the same problem. My roof rotted and KZ replaced the entire roof and repaired the resulting wall delam free of charge....of which they said Alpha would pay 60% of the bill. Jayco did the same for many customers. I don't think I will ever buy a rig with an EPDM roof again but won't think twice with TPO or the other PVC roofs. PVC resists tears better and is easier to repair as the material is actually fused during the repair. PVC also leaves fewer black streaks. BTW TPO has been in use much longer than EPDM in commercial applications.
