You need a better tow vehicle.
While this statement is concise and fairly correct, it is also very trite.
Understand that most of the responses are coming form "professional" RVeeers, many of whom are overly conservative (not bad, just an observation) and by way of virtue of their tenure on this planet are also quite set in their ways and also tempted to over analyze many things that are not considered with as much veracity as those who still live a work a day busy life.
That said, 290hp and brand new, your vehicle will pull a 5000lb hi/lo (presume that's what you mean by expandable) "ok" depending on your aspirations of how much and where you plan on taking the setup.
Yes, make sure a wdh and trailer brakes works with your vehicle and then take 'er easy. If this is weekend/local trips, in frequent, you'll do fine. If you're doing the Griswold summer vacation many times over, x country, mountains, altitude, etc, it makes sense to find a better suited vehicle.
Some are making do with what they got type of thing. But by virtue of having a brand new car, I'll presume your solvent enough to have a proper tow vehicle and would recommend a larger vehicle built more for towing than soccer practice if your going to be putting the SanteFe though a heavy duty cycle with this camper.
