The coupler can be slid into the latch box and left on the trailer allowing the trailer to be moved around like a standard trailer. I had such a contraption when I owned my HA
You will also need a large screwdriver to slide into the pivot channels to keep linkage from moving/pivoting.
This whole idea came from HA themselves. I had similar concerns at the time and I was given this solution by HA.
I can vouch that the welded coupler worked.
