That's pretty much what my manual says for our 2009 Frontier. None of the automatics can be flat towed. Used to be that a lot of 4*4 trucks could have the Transfer Case shifted to Neutral. Automatic could be left in Park. But the Frontier's Transfer Case has NO Neutral. It has only 2WD, 4High and 4Low. So it works out that 2WD manual shift tows in Neutral and 4WD manual shift tows in Neutral with the Transfer Case in 2WD.
