Question? Fueling with Refrigerator or Furnace Running

Just read through some other recent posts, and got me to wondering? Members of RV.net are really divided on keeping the refrigerator running on gas with fueling up. Same goes for the gas furnace. O...

My Winebago manual says shut off the gas appliances before fueling. Why take the unnecessary and possibly catastrophic risk by not shutting these appliances before fueling.
