First while on on the vehicle I cover the ball and WDH brackets with one of the plastic shopping bags. I then remove the drawbar/hitch head and using the receiver/drawbar locking pin lock the drawbar/hitch head to one of my safety chains and just leave it sitting on the ground under the tongue. Nothing is 100% secure, but they would have to cut my safety chain to get my drawbar/hitch head. I simply stow the two WDH bars on the floor behind the front seats in my Van when on the road.
