Many half ton's are light when it comes to payload and when you add 4X4 and crew cab it just doesn't leave much for TW and gear. My 06 F-150 SCab only has 1426# of payload and I give up another 200# to the Leer shell. Fortunately my TW is only 600# and despite being 3500# under the GCWR and 4,000# under my towing capacity I am only a couple of hundred pounds under the trucks GCWR.
"Also my gvwr is only 6700lbs, i have 1200lbs of payload. I know most dont like to admit but I know i'm close if not going slightly over."
Therein lies your problem. Your truck is overloaded, as in exceeding its GVWR, with that trailer. That much trailer on an overloaded half ton is the classic example of the tail wagging the dog which becomes "sway".
Reasonably loaded you are well over 1,000#, probably closer to 1200# or more of TW leaving you nothing for bodies, gear, firewood etc.. If you load so as to lessen the TW (by shifting weight to the rear), you simply exacerbate the sway problem. You don't have the option of loading more in the truck as it is already overloaded. You can put a bandaid on the problem by just going slower and loading much lighter but that sort of defeats the purpose of having that nice trailer in the first place.
As alway....Opinion and YMMV. :C
