Quiet Water Pump

Anybody make a QUIET water pump. I have replaced mine once already I mounted it on a rubber pad but it's still loud enough to wake everyone in the campground?

  • Searching for some time, i didn't find pertinent posts. They were discussed but apparently they fell off.
Last discussion I remember was perhaps 3 years ago. probably wrong.
The market in half million dollars and upwards coaches has grown.
Can't imagine they are still using old tech in all of them.
Anyone here with different pumps etc?
  • The pressure (accumulator) tank will not quiet the pump it will only make the pump turn on less frequently. This subject has been discussed at length. Search this Forum for `water pump' then search the results for `noise' or `quiet' etc.
  • When I relocated the pump in our coach from the bedroom to the wet bay, I also took steps to quiet it even more. Note the flexible hose loops at the upper right. Now our pump is barely noticeable inside the coach even when it's really quiet otherwise. I also installed a 2-gallon accumulator tank. The open ended hose loop behind the pump is a suction line that I added for filling the fresh tank from water jugs, or winterizing the water lines. After the mod was finished, that hose was capped and is stowed at the top of the panel behind it.

  • Ours came, with an Aqua Flow, I think. They changed it out for one of the others after they wrecked it. it was very quiet. I don't have the books here of i could give you a model number if they still make them. All I see on the net is pool pumps. Some of or maybe all the Prevost conversions use a 100 volt jet pack water pump. Somewhat similar to what some homeowners use on some wells.
Depending on power demands wiring to the Inverter and using one of them would be great. Cost,I'm guessing would be three hundred dollars or so and wiring.
    I don't remember the brand.
  • Pump mounting
    Pump discharge line------soft/flexible
Pump discharge line.......strap/tie wrap so that it doesn't bang against cabinet/wall
Pump discharge line>>>>>>>slip some pipe insulation on it

Add an accumulator tank...even small 2 gallon one will help quiet things down

Variable speed pumps are available.......much higher price and don't have a very good reliability rating.
  • I put a revolution pump in as a replacement for my inop pump and I can't even hear it run!
  • A pressure tank is a cheaper alternative to a new quieter pump.
  • When our TT was new, after a few weekend camping trips, I opened the access door (screwed on) to the pump. Found that the screws securing the pump to the floor, rubber mounted, were loose. Tightened them up, it quieted down greatly.

A year later, did the same thing. It's now part of my spring prep / de-winterizing.

    Might give it a look.
  • Add flexible lines going into and out of the pump. It will get quiet. You can also put insulation over the lines to dampen the pipes from making noise. JMO
