Rahayu Generators???

Anyone have experience with this company? I see they list several stores in S. Fla, and have prices about $200-$300 below market prices on Yamaha and Honda generators. I suspect this is a iffy buy at best. I have a Yamaha 1000 is, that I purchased about 5 years ago, but can't find where I bought it. Came out of S.Calif. and was like US Generators, or something like that. I did a Google search and don't see it listed. I paid $625 with free shipping. Just about wore out that little guy with 1,000 of hrs of use, so would like to replace it with a 2000 watt model or another 1,000 watt if I can get a good price.
  • Shipping is only 125.00.. Something wrong. A bit too good to be true. lol..

I checked out the website. Seems as they are giving away generators.
    cummins-onan 7000 watt.
You missed the part about the remaining amount to qualify for free shipping - $10,000. You have to click the "add to cart" button to see that.
  • AFIAK, there are four tiers of generators:

    1: Red/Blue
    2: Champion
3: Chinese brands trying to make a name (Boliy, PowerHouse, etc.)
    4: No-name brands/Harbor Freight brands.

For tiers three and four, you can hit alibaba or aliexpress and find a Chinese ODM/ODM more than happy to stick your label on their OEM stuff. The generator you get will most likely be decent. However, good luck trying to order replacement parts on a small scale.

You will find the majority of generator info (brands, etc) on the *Tech Issues* forum (here).

FYI - *YOU* -or anyone else- can go into the generator business.
Plenty of generator mfgrs in China who will be happy to ship you a container full of whatever you want -AND- brand them - "Geo Generators' or?

Then you can sell them on E-bay (or at a retailer) until they're gone - order more, or call it quits.

They may perform just fine. Only problem there are no repair facilities, parts suppliers, etc. - unless you decide to provide same.

The exception to the Chinese variety is Champion - which has excellent customer service and a real sticks and bricks right here in the USA.

Try a search on any brand and the generic term "generators" on the
Tech forum and you will have hours of reading..:C

  • I'm sure it is. I see a swing of $100-$300 on pricing for the same exact generator online, so does make you go hmmmmmm. Perhaps there's someone in Florida that can verify their stores exist? I don't see any bad ratings, or BBB complaints, so that's a start.
