My questions to you are:
1) Does your truck have a tire pressure reporting system and do you need to do some special maneuver to syn the new tire position to the truck computer (65 vs 80 PSI)?
I do not have a pressure monitoring system so don't know about syncing one.
2) Can you physically turn the outside dually around and mount it on a front wheel?
My truck is a 2006 with all steel wheels. Yes, I can turn the wheels around. I usually clean them well and recoat with black epoxy spray paint from Lowes. I also put antiseize compound on the mounting surfaces. The wheels are hub centric which means they can be real hard to get off if not careful.
3) Do the chromed wheel inserts just snap ON and OFF?
Mine do. The lug wrench tool has a "hook" that fits in a notch on the center piece. I only use the center chrome hub cover on mine. The larger covers make checking the tire pressure more difficult.
If your friends truck has different type wheels my comments may not apply.
This is for my friend's truck. I presently own a 3/4 ton truck but I am planning on buying a dually and will have the same issues. By the way, the Cummins diesel is as quiet as my Duramax. I am very impressed.
Thank you,
LeRoy
