Heck, be glad it was an easy fix and you didn't have to drive the 114 miles to the dealer.
You are correct in your points. Guess I got spoiled by DeMartini. When we bought our MH in 2007 from them in Indiana, we got the balance of the factory warranty. I had several issues with coach systems and they just shipped me the parts. On one expensive part, I did have to pay return shipping.
