How often do you have recertify you propane tanks

I have 4 20# tanks they were past due to be Decertified.They cost me $5.00 each from a RV service co. I traded them in at HD paid for the propane filled ones. Nice to know we can cook on the Bbq as well as the RV when the big one hits....
