I would recommend single as well due to the divorce issue mentioned above. I do a lot of fresh and salt water fishing from a Hobie Quest fishermen. Sit on tops are preffered for their safety and stability as well as being able to sit in them sideways or maneuver around in the cockpit. You want something that is 11' - 14' in length and around 29" - 32" wide. There are a lot of good makes from Hobie, Perception, Wilderness Systems just to name a few.
Depending on your area and the weather you may be able to test some out if the shop has a pool or a pond close by.
