For outdoor use you need something really well made to withstand the uneven ground.
The best (by far) outdoor rug I've used is a pretty expensive indoor 3x6 carpet I think I got at WM. It's the usual indoor area rug with "jute" backing.. and pretty heavy. Around $150. And cleaning is just shaking it.
If you want something to last more than a year, that's what I'd do...and they look really good too!
