Lawn tractors, chainsaws, generators, water pumps, tractors, etc. ALL pay ROAD TAXES for gasoline (Highest in the country here in PA)
Non-tax, non-ethicanol gasoline should be REQUIRED at all gas stations for these purposes. FAIR TAXES before NEW TAXES.
So let me get this straight, you are saying you’re opposed to tax based on vehicle type and mileage driven annually instead of by the gallon as it is now?
How exactly do you suppose they would calculate the mileage you do on your lawn mower?
Nah, you got that crooked, LOL.
The discussion was about onroad and offroad fuels/taxes, etc. I pointed out why (super obscene) taxes at the pump are a problem and should be resolved BEFORE any new taxes or methods are implemented.
"By the mile taxes" are troublesome, too. "Road taxes" in PA unfairly burden rural citizens who have to travel much further on avg to work, food, schools, etc yet drive on some of the worst roads. Plus rural citizens usually have more non-road-use of fuel, so hit twice. Combine that with lower pay and the rural citizens of PA (70% geographically) get the shaft.
You offer a creative thought about a solution, but still a problem. Brainstorming is good. Find a solution ;)
The problem with a ‘one size fits all’ ANYTHING, is that it rarely fits anything, let alone everything.
No matter what ‘solution’ they come up with, it won’t work for everyone.
