Reese dual cam question?

Today I installed the dual cam sway control onto my wdh. It all installed nicely. Well, I think it went well. My one concern is when turning left or right the system is very loud... it goes pop pop pop... but loud sometimes just one pop other times a few. It seems to be louder when turning left . I assume that's only because its driver side. Is this sway system usually quite loud? I have nothing to compare it to. This is my first time using sway control....
  • My were loud, no problem. Also I marked my bars to know which went on each side, after a period of use they seemed to wear in.
  • I have not been to a scale yet but weight appears transferred when measuring front fender im 3/16 inch lower than unloaded... there is ALOT of tension in spring bars.
  • The only time the bars move on the cams is when your turning. If you hear a clunk when taking off or stopping it could be the slop of the drawbar in the receiver. Mine would make that noise before I stiffened up the bars enough. Now they don't make any sound because there's so much tension cocking the draw bar upward.
Perhaps your springs aren't set tight enough and you need to tilt the head or use few links in the chains.
  • I wouldn't say its hitting I think its when the cam slides in/oit of spring bar detent... it even does it after I brake to a stop and then let off and press go pedal a small pop . I m wondering if maybe I have the cams adjusted to short or tight?
  • I don't usually hear anything out of mine. Is there any witness marks of where it hits?
