I don't lock mine either; I'd probably lose the key :) I have one of those locks in my toolbox somewhere but never use it.
When we unhitch, the receiver (hitch head) get's thrown in the back of the truck under my hard tonneau. I always take the 'ol shin buster off, don't want the grandkids running into it.
