Cummins12V98 Is see you have a similar trailer to mine, and pulling with the B&W hitch. I guess my biggest concern is the weight I will pull at 20-21K which is the B&W hitch rating. I think in the Dodge the rating is higher.
thanks for your comments.
Be careful with the truck weighting. It depends on the rear end ratio in the gearing. Mine is 3.73 and I have a GCVW of 27000. But after accounting for the truck curb weight and pax/cargo my tow limit is about 18200.
Ive never tried one before but i found a lightly used trailer saver BD3 hitch on craigslist for $1k with the rails. Picking it up tomorrow and dont even have the 5er yet. This hitch is rated at 18k and 3500 tongue weight. The rig i'm likely to get is a grand design solitude gross weight of 16k and 2600 on the tongue. We will eventually full time in this set up. Tow vehicle is 2014 ram crew cab lariat 3500 dually. Will likeley put in air bags to help if necessary but it wasn't with the bloomer horse trailer.
Good luck!
