The Ford puck system doesn't have as wide of a stance as the Ram does. I believe that is why B&W downgrades their hitch. I have the Ford puck system and felt the B&W looked like a stronger set up compared to the 25k rated Reese. I have pulled 30,000 lb trailers with a B&W TurnoverBall hitch in my 2011 Ford and would feel even more confident hooking a 30,000 lb trailer to the B&W Companion I now have in my 2016 Ford.
I thought the same about the B&W ratings. But seeing the GM puck system only rating 20K had me curious. B&W told me they rate their puck hitches to the lower denominator, that includes the puck systems on each truck.
I would have ZERO issue towing my 23K RV with a Ford B&W puck hitch! I would have issue with the rEESE that "RATES" at 25K. I completely agree looking at the two hitches side by side that the B&W is MUCH stronger. Same goes for the CURT/RAM compared to the B&W that I have.
