In all of the pics I do not see the name Reese and/or Cequent (parent company) anywhere on the shank. I see it on the ball mount. Often the shank is sold separately. That makes me go hmmm

Not saying that it can't be faked....
That definitely is a Reese style shank. Nobody else uses that style. It does seem like maybe their quality assurance program may not be what it used to be. No doubt moving production overseas has something to do with that.
