That, in my experience, is not a true statement.
I had an Atwood Helium fridge and it went into "check" mode a lot, both on propane AND electric.
The problem with the electric "check" issue turned out to be a blown fuse outside in the circuit board. I had to remove a bunch of screws and a heat shield, but there it was - a blown fuse. Change the fuse, fridge was back to working on electric. However, the fuse blew again. Something bad was happening and blowing that fuse.
This is in a 2015 model year trailer. Atwood paid to have their fridge replaced with a Dometic - the Atwood helium was THAT problematic for me.
